No, unless you're joining as a cinematographer. Cinematographer profiles need a reel before they publish; every other role doesn't. Add your role, city, and day rate to get listed—a bio, portfolio images, and gear you own are optional extras you can add anytime.
Is the listing really free?
Yes—permanently. This is not a trial or a freemium entry tier. Find Local Crew will never ask a professional to pay for an account, listing, profile feature, placement, inquiry, or access to work. Optional third-party equipment and studio offers are separate and never affect your account or visibility.
Does my public rate lock me into every project?
No. You publish a day rate for each role you take on so producers understand where a serious conversation begins. Every production still has its own scope and terms, and you can edit your listed rates as your market or experience changes.
What if I do not have recommendations or trusted collaborators yet?
That is fine. Start with your professional profile and add them over time. Confirmed collaborators help producers recognize familiar names, discover you through one another, and see the real local network behind your work. No written recommendation is required, and neither is needed to submit your application.
Can another professional pay to appear above me?
No. Profiles cannot buy promoted placement or premium badges. The default directory order is rotated so visibility is not reserved for whoever pays the most.
